Upper Chichester – LandCare is a national commercial landscaping company that provides services coast-to-coast.  As part of their annual CommunityCare initiative, the Philadelphia Metro LandCare team, based in Aston, dedicated time last week to volunteer and make a positive impact in the local community.

Brian Donnan, Branch Manager for LandCare, contacted Edward T. Coleman, Chief Executive Officer, at Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. (CAADC) and offered their services.  CAADC is a primary provider of social services in Delaware County assisting low- and moderate-income families with assistance including for emergency shelter, rental assistance, utility assistance, food assistance, workforce development initiatives, Weatherization, programs for Veterans and programs for Seniors.  CAADC’s main Direct Service Office is located at 1414 Meetinghouse Road in Boothwyn and sees thousands of residents in need each year.  The building is also part of the area designated by the Boothwyn Town Center Vision Plan.

On Thursday October 17th, Donnan and his team showed up to improve the landscaping for CAADC’s Boothwyn Office.  As stated on their website, LandCare takes “special pride in creating meaningful environments that positively impact” their local communities.  Eight (8) LandCare team members spent the day providing a landscape makeover for the front of the building including installing new plants, pruning existing shrubs and perennials, providing basic clean up and sprucing up a monument area dedicated to Veterans.  LandCare donated all of the materials for the project as well.  This volunteer project by LandCare improved the neighborhood while also helping a local non-profit improve its service facility.

“We’re honored to be able to assist local organizations, like CAADC,” said Donnan.  “Volunteering our time to enhance the community where we live and work is deeply rewarding for every LandCare team member.  Our annual CommunityCare initiative is one of the many ways we strive to make a meaningful difference,” added Donnan.

Edward T. Coleman, CAADC CEO, commented “We really appreciate all the efforts of LandCare and their amazing employees.  They really improved our site and showed they truly care about the community in which they operate.”
